What is EMDR Therapy?
A trauma-attuned, somatic, and integrative approach to healing the nervous system and restoring wholeness.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma-focused therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they can be integrated, not relived.
Through bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tones, or taps), EMDR activates the brain’s natural healing process — allowing unprocessed memories to move from the body’s implicit memory into integrated awareness.
EMDR helps release old emotional and somatic patterns that keep us stuck in survival responses — such as anxiety, shame, or hypervigilance — and opens space for greater regulation, presence, and peace.

Beyond Technique: A Somatic & Attachment Lens
In my approach, EMDR is not just a protocol.
It’s a living, embodied process that honors the wisdom of the body and the importance of relational safety.
Trauma isn’t just in the mind — it’s stored in the nervous system.
That’s why we pair EMDR with somatic awareness, breath, and grounding practices that support the body in feeling safe enough to release what it’s held for so long.
From an attachment perspective, EMDR becomes a reparative experience — one where clients can re-pattern internalized relational wounds through safety, attunement, and connection. Healing happens not only through processing the past, but also through being seen and met in the present.
Working with Ego States & Parts
Many trauma experiences fragment our sense of self.
By integrating ego state and parts work within EMDR, we help clients connect with the protective parts that once held trauma — and bring compassion and coherence to the inner system.
This approach ensures that EMDR processing happens in a resourced, compassionate way, so all parts of the self feel included, not overwhelmed.
